The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) released its fourth revision of the Security and Privacy Controls Special Publication 800-53 (SP 800-53) in early 2015. The guidelines laid out in this publication help government agencies meet their security and privacy standards for data management as defined in the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA).
FISMA compliance is compulsory for federal agencies, requiring them to develop, document, and employ information security programs at an agency-wide level. Private organizations also use the Act and NIST Special Publication 800-53 as a benchmark for their cybersecurity efforts.
This document will help agencies and private organizations to understand how Nuix can fit into their programs by mapping each relevant class of controls and how the Nuix platform addresses the individual controls within that class.
