Nuix Workstation Forensic Practitioner Foundations

Nuix Workstation Forensic Practitioner Foundations two-day certification course teaches you how to take advantage of the various tools and filters Nuix Workstation provides to investigate and deep dive each artifact. By learning these forensic techniques, you will understand how to eliminate irrelevant information and focus on critical evidence.  This course is ideal for those responsible for digital investigations in both law enforcement and/or corporate environments. Prerequisite: Nuix Workstation Forensic Practitioner Core.

In this course, you will learn to:

• Use the search functionality, from creating simple searches to using Nuix Workstations advanced search capabilities.
• Understand how word shingling enhances your Investigations into the ever-growing and varied data stacks.
• Understand the how and why Named Entities are used to enable results to be presented in a user-friendly way. Create your own named entities which will allow you to target specific items, while enhancing your workflow.
• Identify and recover deleted data from recycle bins.
• Learn to deal with, and process, unallocated space which adds weighted evidence to files that have been found in live file locations.
• Understand the various analysis options when working with Windows artifacts including Prefetch files, User Classes and other files which will help you understand how files have been interacted with by suspects.

Each participant will be assigned a virtual machine to use during the duration of the course as this course includes hands-on lab activities. After completion of the Nuix Workstation Forensic Practitioner Foundations course, attendees will be enrolled in the exam. Passing the Nuix Workstation Forensic Practitioner Foundations exam is a requisite for obtaining the Nuix Forensic Practitioner Master Certification.
